LIBERATION DAY AMONG RIDES, VILLAGES AND WINE TASTINGS

Four intense days is not enough but, is still a good starting point to appreciate and learn about the Maremma Grossetana area.

DAY 1 – Horseback riding tour of the WWF Oasis of San Felice

We start with a horseback ride inside the San Felice Oasis, a WWF protected area. The park literally begins at the side of our campsite. Riding through the oasis, you will reach the sea. On your way back, you should stop for a ‘fritto misto’ at Emilio al Mare.

DAY 2 – Camper visit to the ancient village of Scansano

scansano borghi più belli della toscana

Famous worldwide for the wine that bears its name, Morellino di Scansano precisely. A very ancient village of Etruscan origins perched on a mountainous dosal, the town offers beautiful views both on the sea side and on the side of Mount Amiata. You can visit evocative mining areas, churches containing precious works of sacred art and the watchtower of the ancient wall belt built by the Aldobrandeschi family.

Parking the van in Scansano:
In Via 4 Novembre, Piazzale della Botte, at the side of the church there is free parking, 300 meters from the center. Please note that parking is not possible on Fridays because of the market.

Where to eat:
Osteriail Rifrullo
We have no doubt this is the trattoria for you! True typical Maremma tavern with some poetic license. Try the truffle raviolone and the pumpkin and bacon picci to go with an excellent house wine.
🗺️ Address: Via Guglielmo Marconi, 3, 58054 Scansano GR

walking, biking, kayaking or even riding in a carriage
