GIGLIO ISLAND DAY TOUR
A pearl in the Tuscan archipelago only 21 square kilometers in size has remained wild keeping 90% of its Mediterranean scrubland intact. Known to most for its crystal-clear sea teeming with fish, hidden beaches and breathtaking views. It can be explored comfortably by boat starting from Castiglione della Pescaia (9km from La Pampa Parking Area & Camp).

Departs daily except Thursdays from Castiglione della Pescaia at 8:30 am with only one stop at Giglio Island, (only the motorship Ulisse stops at Talamone). The boat will stop in the island’s harbor for about 6 hours, ask the crew if you would like to take a walking tour or guided snorkeling.

Maremma Excursions
It leaves every Saturday from Castiglione della Pescaia from June 22 to September 14, at 8:30 am.
The trip takes about 2 hours. There are two return times from Giglio harbor: one at 1:30 pm and one at 5 pm. The company offers a boat tour of the island for an additional 5 euros.

Blue Navy Cruises
Every day except Friday departing at 9:00 a.m. from Castiglione della Pescaia. The boat makes its first stop of one hour and a half at the island of Giannutri; take advantage of this to dive and swim in its wonderful waters. The cruise continues until arrival at Giglio harbor where it stops for 3 hours. During the return trip it will be possible to admire the islets of Formiche di Grosseto. Return to Castiglione della Pescaia about 7:30 pm.

What to see on Giglio Island
There are four main beaches in Giglio: Campese beach, the largest on the island, located on the northwest coast. The three smaller beaches are Cannelle beach, Arenella beach and Caldane beach, all located on the east coast.
Giglio Porto is not only the starting point for discovering the island but its a súper charming town with multicolored houses and narrow streets full of bars and bistros.On the left of the harbor, noteworthy, there is the ancient Saracen Tower dating from the 16th century. Giglio Castello, an ancient medieval village, stands high on the island. The atmosphere here has remained intact over time!

Exploring the island of Giglio by mountain bike
