Maremma offers extraordinary experiences that are accessible to all budgets. In this article, we suggest an itinerary off the beaten track, featuring archaeological sites not yet overrun by overtourism, trekking on pristine beaches, authentic flavors, and a very special Easter egg hunt.

It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Maremma. From June 1 to September 15, access is limited and requires a paid online reservation; outside of the season, however, entry is free. The beach can be reached by a 1.5 km trek suitable for the whole family, starting from the Pian d’Alma car park. The route is immersed in Mediterranean scrub and offers splendid views of the coast. There are equipped picnic areas along the way.

Vetulonia is a charming village in the Tuscan Maremma, part of Castiglione Della Pescaia, of great historical importance thanks to several archaeological sites dating back to the Etruscan era, with traces of walls, necropolises, and residential quarters that tell its story and wealth. Below a list of sites worth visiting:
Poggiarello Renzetti Archaeological Area (City Excavations) urban district with Via Decumana and remains of houses and shops from the Hellenistic-Roman period.
Medea House aristocratic residence with a courtyard decorated with terracotta tiles, now collected in the museum.

DAY 3: Easter egg hunt through the streets of Castiglione della Pescaia
On Easter Sunday, the streets and squares of the center of Castiglione della Pescaia host the traditional “Caccia al TesUovo” (Egg Hunt), a joyful hunt for colored eggs designed for children: little explorers walk along Corso della Libertà and the pedestrian areas in search of lots of hidden chocolate eggs, with tasty prizes for those who find the most.
