Cala Civette is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled beaches in Tuscany, named after the 16th-century Torre Civette that stands tall over the coast. Nestled between Follonica and Punta Ala, this secluded beach offers golden sand and crystal-clear waters, perfect for those who crave peace and nature—even during the busy summer months.
Pro Tip: Bring your own umbrella, sunscreen, food, and water because the beach has no services and remains wonderfully wild.
Getting There:
Cala Civette is a 25-minute drive from La Pampa Parking Area. Head to the parking lot in Val Martina (Pian d’Alma), and from there, follow a 20-minute walking trail down to the beach. Parking costs €0.50 per hour, and there’s no need to reserve in advance for entry.
If you’re into mountain biking, the trails of Tirli are a must-try! Located in the heart of Maremma, this village offers stunning paths through forests, hills, and Mediterranean scrub. With adrenaline-pumping descents and scenic views of the sea, Tirli’s MTB trails are ideal for both experienced riders and newcomers.

A short drive from La Pampa, you’ll find the Tarot Garden, a colorful open-air museum that’s often called the “Parque Guell of Tuscany.” Created by French artist Niki de Saint Phalle, this vibrant park features 22 giant sculptures inspired by the Tarot card major arcana. It’s a unique blend of art, nature, and culture, perfect for a peaceful afternoon.
When to Visit:
The park is open from April 1 to October 15, daily from 2:30 PM to 7:30 PM (last entry at 6:15 PM).
