The Maremma Park is a stunning nature reserve that stretches for nearly 25 km along the Tyrrhenian coast, from the mouth of the Ombrone River to the Uccellina Mountains. It’s known for its rich biodiversity, Mediterranean scrub, wild beaches, and animals like wild boar, fallow deer, and waterfowl. With a variety of trails for all fitness levels, you can explore the park on foot, by bike, canoe, or even by carriage! The carriage rides, led by local guides, offer a laid-back and charming way to enjoy the park’s beauty while learning about its history.

BIRDWATCHING BY BOAT IN THE DIACCIA BOTRONA RESERVE

The Diaccia Botrona Natural Park, located between Castiglione della Pescaia and Grosseto, is just a short bike ride from the La Pampa Parking Area. It’s one of Italy’s most important wetlands, formed from the reclamation of the ancient Lake Prile. The park is a haven for wildlife, especially birds, making it a top spot for birdwatching. Here, you can spot pink flamingos, grey herons, stilt birds, marsh harriers, and many types of ducks and waders. With its rich biodiversity and stunning lagoon views, it’s a dream for nature lovers and photographers.
You can explore the park by barge all year round with group or private tours. Prices are €12 for adults, €10 for groups and seniors over 65, and €6 for children aged 5–14.

TRY A KITE, WINDSURF OR WING FOIL COURSE
Fiumara is the ideal spot for water sports enthusiasts, obstacle-free beach, sandy bottom, wind between 14 and 20 knots. Kite wind and foil enthusiasts meet here year-round. Fiumara beach is a 10-minute walk from La Pampa rest area. Along the coast from Marina di Grosseto to Castiglione della Pescaia you will find numerous schools you can contact to book a course.
